Frequently Asked Questions
What time is check in?
What time is check out?
Because the ranch is solar-powered, how does this affect the way we use electricity?
You will find everything just as in your own home – microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, lights, outlets, etc. We do ask that you do not bring any type of electric heater, humidifier or crock pot. Please let us know if you are bringing a vehicle that needs to be charged – depending on the time of year we may or may not be able to accommodate this type of energy usage.
Are the cottages accessible year round?
We are located on a dirt road 1/2 mile off Highway 38. We plow our road during the winter and keep the road graded during the other seasons.
Do I need chains during the winter months?
All vehicles must carry chains during the winter months. You must be prepared to chain up your vehicle if you have two-wheel drive. A four-wheel drive vehicle is preferred during the winter, but two-wheel drive with chains will have no problem accessing the cottages.
How far are you located from town?
Cienaga Creek Ranch is located 15 minutes from Big Bear CIty, 20 minutes from Big Bear Lake – close enough to access restaurants, grocery stores, skiing and the lake, but far enough away to enjoy complete seclusion.
Should I bring groceries with me?
Many of our guests prefer to bring their groceries with them so they do not have to leave the ranch. There are two large grocery stores in Big Bear Lake – Vons and Stater Bros.
